Know Your Rights

“You don’t know what you don’t know” …. And boy, do they know that! In the case of a collision, what you don’t know CAN hurt you. There is a lot of information out there about your rights and how to be protected and ultimately compensated, but here are just some of the basics that everyone needs to know. You have the right to choose which shop will repair your car. You have the right to a prompt and good-faith settlement offer, based on the terms of the policy. You have the right to negotiate with the insurance company and its adjuster. You have the right to use any arbitration procedures provided in your policy. And, if at any point, you feel or believe that you are a victim of unfair acts… You have the right to call the Ohio Department of Insurance if you feel an insurance company or agent has deceived you, acted unfairly or violated the law.
